Uses
Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml is a urinary alkalinizing agent used to prevent certain types of kidney stones. It may also be used to treat certain conditions of the blood and body tissues and other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Before using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. DO NOT TAKE TRICITRATES 550-500-334mg/5ml if you are also taking medicines containing aluminum such as aluminum hydroxide and sucralfate, or potassium-sparing water-pills. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking amphetamines, sulfonylurea diabetes medicines such as glyburide, tetracycline antibiotics, lithium, medicine for high blood pressure and heart conditions (ACE inhibitors), salicylates such as aspirin, or decongestant medicines such as ephedrine or pseudoephedrine. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions including heart problems or damage, difficulty swallowing, blockage in your intestine or stomach, peptic ulcer, serious kidney problems, urinary tract infection, uncontrolled diabetes, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding. USE OF TRICITRATES 550-500-334mg/5ml IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have high levels of potassium in you blood or toxic levels of aluminum in your body. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml.
Directions
Follow the directions for using Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml provided by your doctor. TAKE TRICITRATES 550-500-334mg/5ml with food or milk. SHAKE WELL before taking a dose. Use a measuring device marked for medicine dosing. Ask your pharmacist for help if you are unsure of how to measure this dose. Be sure to dilute Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml in water as directed on the packaging or by your doctor. After taking the medicine, drink an additional glass of water. STORE TRICITRATES 550-500-334mg/5ml at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF TRICITRATES 550-500-334mg/5ml, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Cautions
DO NOT TAKE TRICITRATES 550-500-334mg/5ml if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any ingredient in this product. DO NOT EXCEED the recommended dose of Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are taking Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml. Medical and/or laboratory tests such as potassium blood levels may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. DO NOT USE A SALT SUBSTITUTE while you are taking Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes kaolin, antacids containing aluminum, or medicine containing pseudoephedrine or ephedrine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml during pregnancy.
Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may occur while taking Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml include loose stools or diarrhea, upset stomach, nausea, or vomiting. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience weakness, confusion, tingling of hands or feet, black/tarry stools, severe stomach pain, or vomit that looks like coffee-grounds. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to Tricitrates 550-500-334mg/5ml is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. If you take too much
