Uses: This medicine is a vitamin, mineral, folic acid, and stool softener combination used for treating or preventing a lack of vitamins or minerals before, during, and after pregnancy and while breast-feeding. It may be also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Before Using This Medicine: Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. ADDITIOANL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking acitretin, fluorouracil, hydantoins (eg, phenytoin), mycophenolate, penicillamine, or oral anticoagulants (eg, warfarin). DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, including stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting a bowel disorder (eg, colitis, Crohn disease, diverticulitis) certain blood disorders (eg, hemolytic, megaloblastic or pernicious anemia, porphyria cutanea tarda, thalassemia) kidney stones peptic ulcer allergies pregnancy or breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you have had multiple blood transfusions. USE OF THIS MEDICINE IS NOT RECOMMENDED if you have high levels of iron in your blood hemochromatosis (a disorder of iron metabolism) Wilson disease (a disorder of copper metabolism) nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain from an unknown cause appendicitis of a history of bowel blockage. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns about using this medicine.

How to Use This Medicine: Follow the directions for taking this medicine provided by your doctor. TAKE THIS MEDICINE by mouth with food and a full glass of water. SOME BRANDS OF THIS MEDICINE must be swallowed whole. Check with your pharmacist to see if your brand must be swallowed whole. AVOID TAKING THIS MEDICINE WITH dairy products as they may interfere with the absorption of the iron in this medicine. IF YOU ALSO TAKE bisphosphonates (eg, etidronate), quinolones (eg, ciprofloxacin), tetracyclines (eg, doxycycline), or thyroid hormones (eg, levothyroxine), do not take them within 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking this medicine. If you also take antacids, cephalosporins (eg, cephalexin), methyldopa, or levodopa, do not take them within 3 hours before or 3 hours after taking this medicine. If you also take eltrombopag, do not take it within 4 hours before or 4 hours after taking this medicine. Check with your doctor if you have questions. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C), away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. IF YOU MISS A DOSE of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions: DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE IF you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine. This medicine has iron in it. IRON OVERDOSE IS A LEADING CAUSE OF FATAL POISONING IN CHILDREN younger than 6 years of age. In case of an overdose, call a doctor or poison control center right away. WHILE YOU ARE TAKING THIS MEDICINE you may notice darkening of stools. This is normal. This medicine contains a stool softener. DO NOT TAKE ANY OTHER LAXATIVE OR STOOL SOFTENER PRODUCTS without first checking with your doctor or pharmacist. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINES, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU BECOME PREGNANT, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using this medicine while you are pregnant. THIS MEDICINE IS FOUND in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you use this medicine, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Possible Side Effects: SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include constipation diarrhea nausea or vomiting. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience black, tarry stools or stomach pain or cramping. AN ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include rash hives itching difficulty breathing tightness in the chest swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. If you have questions about side effects, contact your health care provider. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms may include diarrhea headache lack of feeling alert loss of balance nausea or vomiting.
