Acticoat? Burn and Acticoat? 7 Antimicrobial Barrier Dressings
(Smith & Nephew) These dressings use silver technology to help create an optimal wound environment. Silver-coated high-density polyethylene mesh facilitates the passage of silver through the dressing. The rayon/polyester core helps manage the moisture level and control silver release. The dressings are effective barriers to bacterial penetration, which may help reduce infection in partial- and full-thickness wounds, including decubitus ulcers, first- and second-degree burns and donor sites. They can also be used over debrided and grafted partial-thickness wounds. Dressings can be cut to desired shape and size. Acticoat? Burn dressings can be left on the patient for up to three days, and Acticoat? 7 dressings can be left on for up to seven days.
