Product Description.:

USES: This medication is an antibacterial used to treat certain vaginal infections.

HOW TO USE: This medication is for vaginal use only. Use this as directed, usually once in the morning and evening. Be sure to ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions. Continue using this medication for as long as prescribed to ensure the infection is cleared. Stopping therapy too soon may result in a re-infection. Fill the applicator provided with the medication. Insert the applicator high into the vagina and press the plunger to release the medication. Clean the applicator with warm soapy water and rinse well.

SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, nausea, stomach cramps, vaginal itching or burning. These effects should disappear as your body adjusts to the medication. If they continue or become bothersome, contact your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: a vaginal yeast infection. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: seizures, liver disease, nervous system disease, allergies (especially to antibiotics). This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Since small amounts of metronidazole are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take especially of: blood thinners, disulfiram. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

NOTES: Avoid drinking alcohol while using this medication. Serious side effects such as vomiting, stomach distress and vision problems may result. Do not engage in vaginal intercourse while using this drug.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double-up the dose to catch up.

STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
