Guanabenz Acetate is an alpha agonist used to treat high blood pressure.
Directions
Follow the directions for using Guanabenz Acetate 8mg provided by your doctor. STORE GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Cautions
DO NOT STOP TAKING GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg without first checking with your doctor. GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg MAY CAUSE drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Guanabenz Acetate 8mg. GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg WILL ADD TO THE EFFECTS of alcohol and other depressants. Ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any medicine that contains phenylpropanolamine or pseudoephedrine. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Guanabenz Acetate 8mg during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS DRUG IS EXCRETED in breast milk. DO NOT BREAST-FEED while taking Guanabenz Acetate.
Possible side effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and weakness. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. This is not a complete list of all side effects that may occur. DO NOT SHARE GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg for other health conditions. KEEP GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg out of the reach of children. IF USING GUANABENZ ACETATE 8mg FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
