Product Description.:

ALPHAGAN? P 0.1%, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2005, and ALPHAGAN? P 0.15%, approved by the FDA in 2001, are indicated to lower IOP in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. They are improved formulations of ALPHAGAN? developed to further minimize drug exposure while maintaining the drug's favorable efficacy profile.

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness in the United States1 and affects approximately 3 million people in the United States and 65 million people worldwide.2 Elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), or pressure inside the eye, represents a major risk factor for vision loss associated with open-angle glaucoma. The higher the IOP, the greater the likelihood of optic nerve damage, which can lead to vision loss and potential blindness. Lowering elevated IOP is the only glaucoma risk factor that can currently be treated. An estimated 3 to 6 million people in the United States have elevated IOP.3

Many glaucoma patients have co-existing systemic disorders. ALPHAGAN? P 0.1% offers a favorable safety profile with no cardiopulmonary contraindications and no label warning or precautions regarding patients with diabetes, sexual dysfunction, and obstructive pulmonary disease. The ALPHAGAN? P franchise is the number one branded adjunct to a lipid in the United States.4 Talk with your eye care professional about whether ALPHAGAN? P is right for you.
