To really make your color and shine go the distance, apply Daily Color Lock In Spray or Crème after getting your hair freshly colored and leave it in overnight before your first shampoo.
How It Works?
Knowledge is power and the key to prolonging the life of your color.
Why Color Fades?
The main reason your color starts to pull a disappearing act is actually washing your hair, especially the first time you shampoo after your process. The reason? When you color your hair, the dye molecules penetrate the hair shaft to change your natural color. Each time you wash your hair many of those dye molecules are rinsed away—literally watering down your once vibrant, shimmery color.
How and Why TRESemmÉ colorTHRIVE works?
Unlike conventional color retension regimens, TRESemmé colorTHRIVE addresses the number one cause of fading: losing color by washing your hair.
colorTHRIVE
Our system actually blocks your color treated hair from fading by penetrating the hair shaft and forming a protective and nourishing net around the dye molecules to lock them into place and help prevent them from washing down the drain. In fact, the colorTHRIVE system helps you to retain your color THREE times longer than using ordinary shampoo! You’ll still see a huge difference in the vibrancy and vitality of your color even after 15 shampoos
“Trust me, colorTHRIVE really works.”
“Celebrities always ask me how to keep their hair color form fading. So I was thrilled to discover new TRESemmé colorTHRIVE, a color care line that works by locking hair dye molecules inside each hair strand, so color doesn’t wash out and hair stays vibrant longer. Technologically, TRESemmé solves the problem, beautifully.”

Marie’s Tips
Tip #1: Skip a shampoo or two
Do not cleanse hair and scalp 1-2 days before a single process. A slight build up of natural oils will help prevent scalp irritation and itching. On the flip side, avoid washing hair for at least 24 hours after coloring to help prevent early oxidation.
Tip #2: Steer clear of certain ingredients
Hair products that contain chamomile, clove, and olive oil can darken and yellow platinum and other cool shades of blonde and so should be avoided at all costs.
Tip #3: Prep for the pool
To side-step chlorine’s color-damaging effects, saturate your hair with bottled water before taking a dip. This strategy helps to fill in some of the more porous areas of the hair, which would otherwise absorb hue altering chlorine deposits.
Tip #4: Customize Your Color
A hair color that is too similar to your skin tone will make your face appear fuller. If you have a slender face, avoid going for ultra-dark shades since they will make your face look too narrow. Curly hair will look its best with fewer but more distinctive highlights than the ones placed in straight hair; this technique shows curl definition better.
