Throughout history and around the world, garlic has been used as a natural panacea for keeping the body healthy. In ancient Greece, Aristotle and Hippocrates touted garlic’s restorative properties while Olympic athletes of that era chewed it to heighten stamina. The Chinese have traditionally used garlic to maintain healthy blood pressure. In India, garlic is used for cleaning wounds. Even Louis Pasteur, the forefather of antibiotic medicine, acknowledged garlic’s benefits to the immune system. Early in this century, physicians recommended the addition of garlic to the diets of tubercular patients. During World War II, it was used to sanitize battle injuries.*
Today we know that garlic contains active compounds such as Allicin, Alliin (an amino acid), Gamma Glutamylcysteines and Thiosulfinates. Allicin, the most important of these, gives garlic its health-benefiting properties and is responsible for garlic’s strong odor.*

Note: To ensure breath freshness, do not chew tablets. Because GarliMax is made from natural garlic, some color variations among tablets is normal and acceptable, as is a slight garlic aroma on the tablet. As with any nutritional supplement, if you are pregnant, nursing a baby, or under a doctor’s care for a medical condition, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking GarliMax, as Garlic may increase blood thinning if you are already on anticoagulants, including Dipyridamole, Ticlopidine,and Warfarin. Do not take with diabetes medication because it may cause a decrease in blood sugars. Garlic may also reduce the absorption of Chlorzoxazone (used to treat acute painful muscle conditions). Do not take garlic supplements with the anti-HIV drug, saquinavir as absorption of this drug may be significantly reduced. Due to its blood thinning effect, it is currently recommend that patients discontinue garlic supplementation 1 to 2 weeks before anesthesia and surgery.
