What factors can increase my risk of experiencing heartburn?

There are multiple factors including but not limited to stress, smoking, getting older, obesity, and lying down after eating.

What's the sodium content in Zegerid OTC??

One Zegerid OTC? capsule (daily dose) contains 303 mg of sodium. This amount is comparable to the amount of sodium in two slices of white bread (300mg). Ask a doctor before use if you have a sodium-restricted diet.
What's a PPI?

Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), such as Zegerid OTC?, are medicines specifically indicated for treating frequent heartburn. They are highly effective because they block acid production at the source by deactivating acid pumps in your stomach. And PPIs only need to be taken once a day for 14 days.
What's the difference between prescription Zegerid? and Zegerid OTC??

From an active ingredient perspective, there is no difference between Zegerid OTC? 20mg capsule and prescription Zegerid? 20 mg capsule. While they contain the same active ingredients, the dosage strengths and indications differ between prescription Zegerid? and Zegerid OTC?. Zegerid OTC? is available in a 20 mg strength and is indicated for frequent heartburn. Prescription Zegerid? is available as both 20 mg and 40 mg strengths, and is indicated for conditions which require a doctor's diagnosis.
